Wheeling doesn’t have commercial air service so if you want to fly, you’ll have to look at one of the surrounding airports. Pittsburgh airport is the closest major airport at only 65 miles away. Technically it’s the 4th largest airport in the country, but don’t let that fool you. They don’t have many direct flights and are only served by a few airlines. On the other hand, the next closest
(Akron-Canton) is twice as far away. Probably the best bet is to see what you can get into Pittsburgh and then compare what’s available at one of the others. Akron/Canton is a bit smaller, but they typically have decent connections and fairly decent prices as a few different airlines are opening new routes there and are pretty competitive.

Airport Shuttle |
If you chose to fly into Pittsburgh or
Columbus and don't want to rent a car, shuttle service
can be arranged from the airport to Oglebay.
Reservations for shuttle transportation from either
airport can be made by phoning

Pittsburgh and $120 from Columbus. |

Hotel Shuttle |
Realizing
that not everyone will be able to stay at Oglebay, we
have tentatively set up a shuttle service from the Super
8 to and from Oglebay. The only potential
difficulty with the hotel shuttle is that we need to
know in advance if people will be utilizing it and if
so, how many. So if you're like Andy and Elaine
and would typically wait until the last minute to
decide, don't. If it turns out that the shuttle
won't be utilized, we'll go ahead and cancel the
reservation. (Note: the shuttle service will finish by
midnight.) |
